Family Safety Training & Drills

Strong doors and cameras are only half the picture. The other half is simple, calm routines your family can actually follow at 2 a.m. When adrenaline is high and everything feels loud.

What This Training Actually Is

This is not a SWAT fantasy course or a three-hour lecture everyone forgets. It’s a focused session in your actual home where we walk through realistic “what ifs” and build simple drills your family can repeat on their own.

  • We speak to adults and kids differently – same plan, different language.
  • We focus on clarity, repetition, and confidence – not fear or graphic stories.
  • We tie everything back to your real doors, hallways, bedrooms, and routines.

The goal is not to turn anyone into a hero. The goal is to make sure everyone knows exactly what to do, where to go, and what not to do if something goes wrong.

What We Cover

We tailor drills to your home and your family, but most sessions include some version of the pieces below.

Night-Time Walkthrough

Night Time Walkthrough Web

We walk the house the way it actually is at night – lights off, doors as you normally leave them.

  • Identify safe paths from bedrooms to rally points.
  • Check what you can really see and hear at night.
  • Decide which doors/windows get checked and by who.

Scenario Drills

Scenario Drills Web

Short, repeatable drills for realistic situations – run slowly at first, then a bit faster.

  • “Noise downstairs at night” drill.
  • “Aggressive knock at the door” drill.
  • “Kids home with one adult” variations.

Kids’ Rules & Roles

Kids Rules Roles Web

Simple rules kids can actually remember when they’re scared or tired.

  • Where to go and where notto go.
  • What they never open or answer alone.
  • How to call for help from your home.

Rally Points & Safe Spaces

Rally Points Safe Spaces Web

We define exactly where people go and how you regroup under stress.

  • Primary and backup rally points inside the home.
  • How long to stay put vs when to move.
  • Tying in existing or future fortified spaces.

Communication & Code Words

Communication Code Words Web

Short, unambiguous words that cut through noise and panic.

  • Family code words for “come home now” or “this is serious.”
  • Clear commands for moving, hiding, or calling.
  • Who talks to 911 and who stays quiet.

Tech & Alert Habits

Tech Alert Habits Web

How you actually use cameras, alarms, and phones in the moment.

  • Who checks cameras – and from where.
  • What to ignore vs what to act on.
  • Backup plans if power or Wi‑Fi drops.

How A Typical Session Works

Every home and family is different, but the structure stays tight and respectful of your time.

  • Pre-Call. We talk through your layout, ages of kids, past incidents, and what you’re most concerned about.
  • Walkthrough & Mapping. On-site, we walk your main paths, rally spots, and likely problem areas.
  • Drill Design. We sketch out 2–4 core scenarios and keep them simple enough to repeat without us.
  • Run-Throughs. We walk through drills slowly, then a little faster, until everyone knows their role.
  • Debrief & Leave-Behind. You get a simple written summary with key steps, code words, and reminders.

Who This Training Is For

Most families we work with are not “paranoid.” They’re realistic. They want to know they’ve done what they can – and that if something happens, they’re not improvising from scratch.

  • Families with kids who want age-appropriate plans.
  • Households that have already invested in hardware and want to match it with habits.
  • People coming out of a break-in, stalking, or conflict situation who want a more confident plan.
  • New homeowners who want to start strong instead of patching later.

What You Take Away

  • Clear rally points and safe paths marked for your layout.
  • 2–4 core drills your family can practice in under 10 minutes.
  • Short, written plan you can keep in a drawer or safe room.
  • Age-appropriate rules for kids and teens.
  • Suggestions for integrating Fortified Spaces or hardware upgrades.

Typical session length

The best time to decide who grabs which child, who locks which door, and who calls for help is now – not while everyone is half-awake and scared.

Training and drills give you a script to follow when your brain wants to freeze.

150-Point Assessment

150 Point Assessment Web 1 1

Run training after a full assessment so your drills are built on a solid understanding of how your home actually performs under pressure.

  • Identifies key entry points and weak spots.
  • Informs where rally points and safe spaces should be.
  • Helps prioritize which drills matter most.

Breach Testing

Breach Testing Web 2

If your home has already been tested the hard way, or you’ve run controlled breach tests, training helps your family adapt to the new realities of your layout and hardware.

  • Aligns drills with upgraded doors and frames.
  • Uses real incident paths to shape scenarios.
  • Closes the loop from “what happened” to “what we do now.”

Fortified Spaces

Fortified Spaces Web

When you have a safe room or Fortified Space, drills make sure everyone knows how and when to use it – and when not to.

  • Clear triggers for heading to a Fortified Space.
  • Rules for opening/closing once you’re inside.
  • Integration with communications and alerts.

Pricing & Booking

Family Safety Training & Drills are priced based on the size of your home, the number of participants, and how many scenarios you want to cover in one session.

  • Single-session training is usually enough to establish your core plan.
  • Follow-up or seasonal refresh sessions can be scheduled if needed.
  • You’ll see a clear scope and estimate before anything is confirmed.

Training can be booked on its own, or added on after an assessment, breach test, or Fortified Spaces project.

Turn “We’ll Figure It Out” Into A Plan

Hoping you’ll make the right call in the moment is not a plan. A short, focused training session gives your family a simple script to follow when it matters most.
