FAQ
No. We don’t run a monitoring centre and we don’t offer on-site guard staff in uniforms. Our focus is physical fortification, assessments, bug sweeps, and training – not cameras-as-a-subscription or live monitoring.
We’re based in Langley and primarily serve the Lower Mainland and surrounding areas. For certain projects or remote consults, we can work outside that area on a case-by-case basis.
Most of our clients are normal families, homeowners, and small business owners who are:
It’s a structured walkthrough of your property where we check roughly 150 physical points and patterns – doors, frames, locks, windows, garage, yard, cameras, lighting, and movement paths – and identify where a determined person would most likely try to get in or move through.
You get a written summary with your Top 5 vulnerabilities and a phased plan: what to fix now, what to fix next, and what to plan for as a larger project.
For a typical single-family home or townhome, plan on 1.5–3 hours on-site depending on size, layout, and complexity. Larger properties and small commercial spaces can take longer.
We focus on entry points, likely movement paths, bedrooms, safe spaces, and any areas you’re specifically concerned about. You always control which rooms are included. The more complete the picture, the better the plan, but we respect your boundaries.
Yes, with some limitations. We can assess your unit itself (doors, windows, safe spaces, routines) and your immediate approach (hallways, stairwells, garages). We can’t change building-wide infrastructure, but we can still improve how your unit handles risk.
We keep vehicles, clothing, and behaviour low profile. To anyone outside, it should look like a normal visit or contractor call-out. If you need very specific cover for a situation, we discuss that before we book.
Our focus is on consumer-grade and common-problem devices:
Extremely advanced or intelligence-grade systems are outside the scope of this service. If we suspect something in that category, we will tell you directly and recommend specialist options.
No one can honestly give a 100% guarantee. What we can do is methodically check the most likely devices, locations, and access points based on real-world cases and give you a clear report of what we did and didn’t find.
If we find a device, we document it and then it’s your call whether to leave it in place, disable it, or turn it over to law enforcement. We can outline typical options, but we do not provide legal advice.
Yes. We can run a focused vehicle tracker and RF sweep that covers the undercarriage, bumpers, wheel wells, trunk, interior compartments, and obvious power/diagnostic points. This can be booked alone or as part of a larger sweep.
No. The goal is hidden strength and clean finishes. Reinforced doors, frames, and safe rooms are designed to blend in with your existing style as much as possible. From the street and from inside, it should still feel like a home.
We do both. New builds give more freedom to integrate Fortified Spaces from day one. Retrofits work within your current structure to strengthen key points, add hidden storage, or build safe rooms into existing rooms and layouts.
Yes. We can design and build safe or panic rooms that are focused on giving you time, cover, and communication options during a worst-case event. The exact spec depends on budget, threat level, and how the rest of the home is built.
Yes. We can design and install concealed storage for sensitive items, documents, or valuables. You are responsible for following all local laws and regulations for anything you store; we don’t provide legal advice on that front.
Assessments are usually a flat rate. Bug sweeps, Fortified Spaces, and custom builds are priced based on scope: size of the property, complexity, materials, and time on-site. You get a clear written quote before you commit.
Standard quotes based on an initial call and basic details are free. If a design or planning session turns into a larger standalone consulting project, we will outline that and get your approval before any billable work starts.
Yes. Larger projects, custom Fortified Spaces, and material-heavy work typically require a deposit before we order anything or block time on the calendar. Details are spelled out clearly in the quote and agreement.
Often, yes. For example, a bug sweep can be paired with a 150-point assessment, or a basic door/lock upgrade can be included in the same visit as your assessment. Combining work can reduce total disruption and sometimes cost.
No. We do not post client layouts, photos, or builds on social media or marketing without explicit written permission – and even then, we strip out anything that would expose how to get into your specific property.
Reports and photos are for you. If you choose to share them with police, insurers, or anyone else, that’s your decision. Internally, access is limited to the people working directly on your project.
ARX HomeGuard operates under applicable local requirements for physical security work and trades, and maintains appropriate insurance coverage for the services we offer. Full details are available on request and will be reflected in your agreement or quote.
Many clients come to us in the middle of conflict, legal processes, or investigations. We treat those details as sensitive and only gather what we actually need to do the work safely and effectively. If something is better discussed with your lawyer or the police, we will say so directly.
If your situation doesn’t fit neatly into any of these boxes, that’s normal. A short conversation is usually enough to see whether ARX HomeGuard is the right fit – and what the first step should look like.
